Holiday Parade Float Planning

It’s time to start planning! The annual Saline Holiday Parade is Dec. 8, and Northstar has had a float in the parade for many years. During the parade, the children get to sit on the float and wave to the audience – they have a great time while the parents walk alongside and hand out goodies.

The Giving TreeBut first comes the float! All Northstar families are encouraged to participate in the planning and building of the float for the parade. This year’s parade theme is “The Gift of Giving” and the Northstar PTO has decided to use the classic children’s book “The Giving Tree” as the inspiration.

A planning meeting will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10am at East Campus. Please sign up for the planning meeting on the Float Doodle.

Please come join us as we figure out how to:

  • Construct the tree
  • Decorate the float
  • Create the costumes
  • Move the float
  • Play music and light the float
  • What to hand out to the public

Children may attend the planning meeting, but parents are encouraged to come alone – so they can think better 🙂
